VG Committees

Village Green Committees
Various committees of Village Green residents volunteer to support the Board of Directors. For information about joining a committee, contact the office, or the committee chair.

Budget & Finance Committee
George Rheault, Board liaison
UPDATE: Now meets MONTHLY, 2nd Thursdays of each month; 7:00 p.m.
The Committee studies all factors affecting Village Green costs and income, monitors current expenses, assists the Board and/or the Manager on any specific problems that may arise relating to financial matters, and makes recommendations to the Board concerning efficient handling of these items. It also contributes to year-round planning.

Communications Committee
Shumway Marshall, chair
3rd Wednesdays, 7:00 p.m.
Publishes Highlights quarterly and manages content on the VGOA Web site. In particular, we need residents to write and edit articles for Highlights and people with experience developing websites.

Court Council
Nat Hutton, chair
1st Wednesdays, 7:00 p.m.
Each court has a court council representative. The Council is the main liason between residents and the VGOA Board. Find out who your representative is from the office, or on lists posted in the laundry rooms. Anyone can come to Court Council meetings.

Cultural Affairs Committee
Allison Grover-Khoury, chair
1st Wednesdays, 5:30 p.m.
Puts on various events throughout the year, such as the summer concerts, the Art Shows, and yearly Halloween and Easter parties for children.

Ad Hoc Committees

Building Stabilization Committee
Meets before monthly Board meetings, 4th Tuesdays, 6:30–7:00 p.m.
This committee consists of Board directors Rob Creighton, Dan Frank, and Joseph Khoury. The committee meets with interested homeowners before each Monthly Board Meeting to discuss the Building Stablization Project.

Cultural Landscape Committee
Holly Kane, chair
4th Mondays, 7:00 p.m.
The committee is in the final stages of completing a comprehensive site history for the Village Green, and is overseeing the work of consultants who are preparing treatment guidelines. View the draft report - Part I & Part II.

Design Review Committee
Wendell Conn, chair
1st Mondays, 7:00 p.m.
Oversees all architectural changes to the Village Green's structures, develops the architectural guidelines for the VG Handbook, advises the Board and writes policies on proposed renovations (including plumbing) to individual units and common spaces.

Landscape Committee
Wendell Conn, chair
2nd Mondays, 7:30 p.m.
Oversees maintenance of the Green's landscape.

Safety Committee
Ethan Markowitz, chair
4th Wednesdays, 7:00 p.m.
The mission of this committee is to increase and maintain resident awareness and encourage participation in safety and emergency preparedness through the safety committee and community networking at Village Green.

Social Recreation

every Thursday, 11:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
Senior Club 2nd Thursdays, 12:00–1:00
Movie screening: 4th Thursdays, 1:00 p.m.
This recreation group meets in the clubhouse every week. Come by and join in the fun!

Tree Committee

3rd Mondays, 7:30 p.m.
Oversees memorial trees, identification and renewal of dead trees, and restoration of trees on the 1940s Barlow landscape plan.
