Village Green Committees
Various committees of Village Green residents volunteer to support the Board of Directors. For information about joining a committee, contact the office, or the committee chair.

 
  Budget & Finance Committee
Marie Fouche, chair
2nd Thursdays, 6:30 p.m.
Monitors the Association's finances and provides information to the Board of Directors. The Committee advises the Board on financial matters and accept projects related to budget and financial matters as assigned by the Board and/or Liaison.

Communications Ad Hoc Committee
Susan Edwards, chair
3rd Wednesdays, 7:00 p.m
Publishes Highlights quarterly and manages content on the VGOA Web site. We need residents to write articles for Highlights and the Web site, and to help manage the Web site and produce Highlights.

Court Council
Nat Hutton, chair
1st Wednesdays, 7:00 p.m.
Each court has a court council representative. The Council is the main liason between residents and the VGOA Board. Find out who your representative is from the office, or on lists posted in the laundry rooms. Anyone can come to Court Council meetings.

Cultural Affairs Committee
Molly O'Brien, chair
1st Wednesdays, 5:00 p.m.
Puts on various events throughout the year, such as the summer concerts, the Art Shows, and yearly Halloween and Easter parties for children.

Cultural Landscape Committee
Ted Lumpkin, chair
4th Mondays, 7:00 p.m.
The committee is undergoing the awesome task of inventorying every shrub and bush on VG property for the Cultural Landscape Report, the first step towards a maintenance plan for the future of the VG's historic landscape, and possible funding. Join the Saturday morning survey team, which walks the Green, slowly cataloging all of the plants. Saturdays, between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.

Design Review Committee
Christian Daniels, chair
1st Mondays, 7:30 p.m.

Oversees all architectural changes to the structures on the Green. DRC develops the architectural guidelines for the VG Handbook, advises the board and writes policies on proposed renovations (including plumbing) to individual units and common spaces.

Grant Ad Hoc Committee
Dawn Elliott, chair
The Grant Committee is currently not holding meetings.
Develops grant proposals and writes grants for initiatives across the Green. Seeks input from committees about grant opportunities, or projects in need of funding. Most opportunities are connected to VG's historic status.
We need help cataloguing materials in the archive room!

  Landscape Committee
Georgia Lumpkin, chair
2nd Mondays, 7:30 p.m.
Oversees maintenance of the Green's landscape.

National Landmark Committee
Robert Nicolais, chair
2nd Tuesdays, 7:30 p.m.
Formed of the chairs of VG committees. Advises the Board on issues related to the Green's Landmark status.

R.A.M.P. Committee

2nd Thursdays, 7:00 p.m.
The RAMP Committee's Mission Statement is to:
1. Actively discuss and explore the RAMP (Rehabilitation and Maintenance Plan) work facing Village Green.
2. Make recommendations to the Board on how to proceed.
3. Actively involve the Village Green Community in discussions.

Safety Committee

3rd Saturdays, 10:00 a.m.
Visit the Safety Committee's Web page, where you can get some tips for securing your home.
The mission of this committee is to increase safety at Village Green through growing and maintaining a network of active residents who report suspicious criminal activity and safeguard their property and community. Each Court has a Neighborhood Watch Captain who helps to coordinate neighbors getting to know one another and distributes information prepared by the Safety Committee about crimes and how to prevent them. Participating in Neighborhood Watch is easy, free, and builds community. Come to a Safety Committee meeting and help make the Green safe!

Social Recreation

every Thursday, 1:00–4:00
Senior Club 2nd Thursdays, 12:00–1:00
This recreation group meets in the clubhouse every week. Come by and join in the fun! A movie is screened every 4th Thursday at 1 p.m.

Tree Committee
Gordon Brooks, chair
3rd Mondays, 7:30 p.m.
Oversees memorial trees, identification and renewal of dead trees, and restoration of trees on the 1940s Barlow landscape plan.
